Hi all,
Any suggestions very welcome.
I have a John Gempton who married Mary Cross 22 Feb. 1807, Brixham, Devon, but didn't have their first child John until 1815 It has been suggested he may have been a soldier in the Napoleonic wars.
regards, DiDi

There might have been children born previously who died, and as it was pre-1855 there would be no record of death.
Researching Campbell, Ramage, Moan, McAnulty (all spellings), Nelson, Gardner

Thanks you Margaret S. It is indeed a possibility unless she was a reluctant bride.
