Post by Dusty44 » Tue May 02, 2006 3:21 pm

James and Jane were my grt g/parents (x2) and as far as I know were both born in Ireland, possibly Antrim. They married in 1851 in Cadder settled around that and the Monklands areas and had 9 children.Their daughter Jane born in 1857 was my grt g/mother.James was a Railway pointsman. Would love some more info on both of their families. :D

Hi Dusty
Have you tried looking for them in the census? You don't mention when they married in 1851 but that might be the one to start with, or maybe 1861 would be better - they should have a few children by then...

best wishes
Lesley

Hello Dusty44,

You say your g g parents were born possibly Antrim but hopefully if you look at Margaret's birth entry on SP you will know for sure as the parents' place is usually given on an 1855 entry.

Hello Dusty,

Did Jane Crossan have a sister Mary?.
In my research I have a MARY CROSSAN b 1834 married 1854 to ALEXANDER MATHIE and living in Dalziel Lanark and 9 children.

Cheers,
Maureen
