Hi Thomsos,
I can only suggest getting William's 1891 MC on ScotlandsPeople, and hope he has named his parents correctly.
Then knowing his age search the IGI firstly for his birth - then get his BC on SP (this should say when & where his parents married).
Also, hopefully he's with his parents on the 1881 census - this should say where, and roughly when, all in his family were born.

Jack,
By searching the IGI I take it you mean LDS site, if so he is not on it, I have his MC from SP,
he was 22 when he got married Eliz Swan in Kincardine1891 which makes his birth date 1869/70,
parent James & Charlotte m.s. Finlayson,
Can't find his parents MC on SP,
I found A William McIntyre age 22 on the 1891 census for Kincardine/Perthshire, says born St Ninians, Stirling, but can't find anything on SP,
Any suggestions?

Hi thomsos

I had one credit so know there is a death of a Charlotte Finlayson McIntyre in Stirling. You might want to have a look at this and see if she might be his mom.

Best wishes
Jean

Hi Thomsos,

There is a marriage of a Charlotte Finlayson to a James McIntee in St Ninians in 1862. They had a son called William there in 1869. Is it possible that these are your people and that the name has become slightly changed over time?

Regards,
Isobel

Hi again

Here's a long shot but very possible this is the above mentioned Charlotte and family in 1881.......which is looking even more likely to be your William..........
