Hi! I am looking for a brother and sister of my grandmother. The family was split up after their mother died, two children remained in Newmills, Co Tyrone, N Ireland on the family farm and the other two were taken by 'relatives' to Scotland never to be heard of again.
I have traced one without any problems on SP. Beatrice Augusta Isabella Richardson (26/10/1884) was on the 1901 census living with her grandparents, James and Isabella Morrison 33 Carrington St, Glasgow, aged 15. She married a James Alexander Gardner in Dunlop, Ayr on 10th March 1909. She died 20th Sept 1943 at 26 Carrington Street, Glasgow and the death certificate was signed by a daughter Eva R Cameron (this may not be the correct spelling the 'e' and 'r' aren't totally clear). I've checked on SP but can't find a marriage certificate for Eva. I am interested in finding out if any other children were born. Is there anywhere else online that would help me find this?
Her brother was James Jubilee Morrison Richardson (6/6/1884). He is not listed with his grandparents on the 1901 census so he may have been sent to other relatives (can't find a death certificate). I am not having much luck finding him on SP. There is a listing of a James Richardson, aged 12, nephew with a John and Jane Jamieson (nee Richardson) but it gives his birthplace as Lanarkshire Glasgow (same as grandparents) and I've traced Jane Richardson's marriage and birth certificate and there does not seem to be a N Ireland link so I don't think this is the correct one. Wondering if any of the above rings any bells with people who can help me fill in some blanks.
Thanks any help!
Looking for a Beatrice Richardson & brother James.....

Hi tweezle and welcome to TalkingScot!
As near as I can see you've gone as far as you can with the online records if there are no other James Richardson's on the 1901 census that are possibilites. It is still tempting to consider the one you found in Ayrshire to be him. I am assuming you have a typo and his DOB is not 1884 but maybe 1889? which would match the 12 year old that you found. I've looked for an Irish connection to this Jane Jamieson mn Richardson too. Looks like her father was James Richardson a coal miner born in Edinburghshire and his father was a James Richardson medical practictioner. Except I can't find any evidence of this father or mother as stated on the DC nor can I find any OPR births to them.
It's also tempting to keep this as a possibility due to the location of Beatrice's marriage and the general location of the Jamieson family.

You have to consider that your James J. M. Richardson would have been of a ripe age for service in WW1. If he did enlist and serve he might have ended up most anywhere. If he did not survive theoretically his DC could be found but this too is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
As for newer records with which to attempt to locate Eva and/or silblings and their BMD's unfortunately there is no online access to these beyond the cut off dates as stated on Scotlands People website. If you are in Scotland the records could be searched in person. If not perhaps you should consider hiring a professional......or finding a very generous volunteer!!
Best wishes

Thanks for the welcome Jean! Yes James' birthdate is a typo and should be 1888. Thanks for pointing that out! It certainly all seemed to add up to being the right 'James' with this family especially once I discovered that Jane Jamieson had Richardson as a maiden name but I know that the Richardson grandparents of Beatrice and James were in N. Ireland. I suppose there is still a possibility that there could be a link, need to ask a few questions here closer to home. I hadn't thought about WW1 so that is something I should look into and thanks for pointing me in that direction.
