CAN ANYONE HELP, I AM LOOKING FOR A DEATH FOR THOMAS COCKBURN HE DIED IN LARGO FIFE, HE WAS MARRIED TO ELSPETH KAY, HE DIED A ROUND 1853. OR DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A SITE THAT HAS INFORMATION ON DEATHS BEFORE 1855. THANKS KATIE

There is an entry in the SP wills index for a Thomas Cockburn Forester residing at Paratis, Parish of Largo, dated 1853.

The Fife family history societies pre-1855 death index CD also lists Thomas, date of death 12 Oct 1852, husband of Elspeth Kay - it gives the will above as the source so looks like the will would be worth getting from SP.

Tom is spot on. Had a quick look on the Fife deaths prior to 1855 CD and found:-

Thomas Cockburn, Pratis, Largo, died 12/10/1852; Forrester; husband of Elizabeth Kay. Inf source - Wills ref SC 20-50-24

HI, THANKS FOR THAT, I HAVE GOT HIS WILL FROM SP, AND I PAID FOR A MARRIAGE LINE WHICH HAD NO INFORMATION WHO HIS PARENTS WERE, THATS WHAT I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT, ONE OF THE CENSUS SAYS HE FROM BERWICKSHIRE PRESTON BUT THEIR A FEW IT COULD BE. I AM TRYING TO FIND PROOF. THANKS KATIE
