Hi All,
planning a trip in October.
Can anyone give me some pointers to make the best use of this place?

Hi Cathy,

It would be a good idea to lookup the Derry Genealogy research centre on the web, there would probably be an email address for them, I would suggest you email to ask if you can do research at their centre.

I had great plans to do research at the Cavan Genealogy Centre last year, only to find that it was a matter of filling in the forms, paying the money and waiting for them to do the research for me, and as there is very little avenue for Irish research on the web, I did resort to filling the forms and paying the money, that was last November, and I am still waiting to receive the information.

The public library in Cavan did have a limited amount of information, I was able to some research there, perhaps the Derry library may be your best bet.

Good luck

Hi Cathy, I am sorry to say , you cannot do your own research here. You can pop in and leave your research requests,(paid) and they will be posted to you. I am going next week to this area and checked ahead.
