Glasgow Telephone number.....

Post by marva » Fri Mar 25, 2005 1:41 am

Does anyone know if there is a way I can get a telephone number for Anniesland, Glasgow? I have an 86 year old aunt by marriage there and she is the only family I have left. Would like to surprise her with a call.

Yes,go to BT.Com. It's the on-line version of directory enquiries.

Hi Marva

You could also try www.infobel.com

Tried both sites, cannot find. Infobel will only go down so far and her first name begins with M an it doesn't go that far, there are 200 with the last name. Thanks anyway, it was just something I thought about.

Hi Marva,

There's also http://www.192.com/index.cfm

Some reasons as to why a person can't be found -

1 - Cable phone line (not all are BritishTelecom; ie BT).
2 - Ex-directory (person wanting their details kept private).
3 - Widowed ladies still using late husband's name or initial.
4 - Single ladies listed under her (late) parent's name.

Nos 1 & 2 wouldn't be listed in public telephone books or indexes. Jack

Hello Marva
Give me a name with an initial if possible and i will have a bash at this for you. There are other ways of doing this depending on what information you know. Don't give up. I'm going away for Easter.

Hi

Tried 192.com, not there either. It's Mary (uses May) McArthur, xxxx xxxx. Glasgow Gxx xxx (Anniesland). No one else lives with her, it's an upstairs apartment.

Thanks for all the help.

Marva

Hi Marva,

I think I've found her indexed by BT under her (late?) husband's name. Answer given by private message - I'm not keen on these types of details on a public forum.

All the best,
