Hi,
I am researching this lineage, but even though this is the record I have I have no actual proof (documentation). I'm needing a birth record for both John Beatty and Jane Ross, a marriage record, birth records for the children, and a possibe will for John Beatty.
Thank you
Regards
Nelda

Hi Nelda
...and a warm welcome to Talking Scot
Thats quite a tall order you've got there. I'm not sure where you've looked already. The IGI has a John Beattie born 1621, who married a Jane Ross but it is a submssion so not taken directly from the OPRs.
Ayrshire has quite a few parishes so without knowing which area he was likely to have come from it might take a while to check for any mentions on the Scotlands People site. But, many of the OPR records do not go as far back as the dates you are looking for - many in Ayrshire do not start unitl the late 1600s and some do not start until after 1700:

You could also try a search for wills on Scotlands People. (link is at top of page)
Sorry not to come up with anything more concrete.
Best wishes

Beatty & Ross
Hello Lesley,
THank you for the Welcome! Yes it is a very big request, and yes the problem is knowing the parish they were at. Thanks for the heads up on the IGI, at least I might find a another researcher looking for the same line. I normally don't look at much that is a submission.. I like records, but anything will help right now.
I'll try Scots people too.
Thank you
