First World War Glasgow Roll of Honour - lookups offered

Post by DMcNay » Mon Aug 07, 2006 10:39 am

Hi,

I have quite a few books listing men who died in both World Wars and I thought I would offer some lookups to anyone interested.

The first one I'll offer is the Roll of Honour for the City of Glasgow for the First world War. It lists a mans name, his address and the rank and regiment he served in. This book is available at the Mitchell Library, but I'll do lookups for anyone who can't make it in there. [Admin Note: this offer involves no copyright issues given the date of volume involved]

I'll check here periodically to see if there's any replies. Please be patient if I haven't got back to you after a few days, I might not be online in that time.

I'll have a look in my library and see if there's anything else that might be of interest later.

Regards,

David

You coudl try:
WW1, Evening Times Roll of Honour; the Mitchell library has produced an index to 5,700 obituaries, mostly people from the Glasgow area.
Evening Times Roll of Honour

Best wishes

Maureen,

I'll get back to you with the first request.

I can't help you with WW2 names, I only have the roll for the Great War.

Regards,

David

Maureen,

Sorry, no Robert Mathie listed. There's a James, a George Edwin, a Thomas and a Walter, but no Robert.

David
