Looking for a marraige or death.....

Looking for a marraige or death of Patrick Moran born Stow 1863 Parents Thomas Moran & Mary Moran. I have Patrick on the 1871 , 1881 , 1891 & 1901 census for Stow , but after that i can't seem too find him anywhere. I have been searching now for nearly 2 years too no avail. Any help would be a bonus.

Hi Maddy

This is perhaps a silly question, since you have been searching for so long. Have you tried looking for him with his birth year +/- 2 for instance? Or using wild cards? Or as Peter rather than Patrick?

On ScotlandsPeople, there is one death for a Patrick Moran born 1863 +/- 2 in Midlothian, between 1901 and 1955. Have you seen that one?

Yes i have searched for him under the name of peter he was actually listed on 1 of the census under the name peter. I will check my SP and c if i have actually seen those deaths

I have just checked on SP there was 4 Patricks between 1901 1955 , i had previously opened 2 of them . I opened the other 2 but none of them are him.

Hello Maddy,

Sorry I don't have the credits to check but have you looked at the Peter Morran death in 1912.

It is in Midlothian but not Stow. Perhaps someone will have a look.

Ummm...a question for you. I've found your family in 1881...I've found mother Mary's death and hubbie Thomas's too. I've found brothers John and Michael. Haven't tracked all the other weans yet but still no sign of Patrick acting as a witness for any of those certs. You said you had him in Stow in 1891 and 1901...and now I gotta be dumb and say....are you certain? I was rushing before leaving the office to find him and I didn't have any luck. Might be under a flukey spelling that I haven't tested yet but just wondered if he might have disappeared not long after 1881....so maybe he emigrated or something??? Hmmmmm.....

k There is a long list of possible deaths country wide that I haven't veiwed yet but was hoping to narrow this up a bit. Do you know if any of the other kids emigrated?...or alternatively have you tracked all of them into marriage and beyond???
