where was she born?.....

Hi

My 2 x grt grandmother Mary Moodie [May] was born about 1833 Either Glasgow or Edinburgh. She married in Glasgow but could be born in Edinburgh as a marriage for the parents names off LDS place them in Edinburgh. Her parents are Jessie Geddes and James Moodie in the 1841 census she would be age 8. If someone can do a lookup for me it would confirm if these are her parents.

You've done it againgiven me info that I did not have I now know where Murdoch was born and I have a new area to explore so much for me thinking the fanily all came from Glasgow. Also you've confirmed that Mary was born in Edinburgh for me I will have to go to my local LDS centre now and get a brick wall knocked down.

Getting Murdoch's DC should give his parents' names, but always a chance that there is no birth record. Though i do hope there is.

Hi Jack

Murdch married Mary 9 May 1856 Calton Glasgow according to scotlandpeople his cert says he was a widower. I looked the LDS ans they have a Murdoch Muir marrried to An Ann Park 4 January 1852 Barony Glasgow. I have his death from scotlandspeople which give his parents as William Muir and Elizabeth McCutchie. Murch died 20March 1875 Kelvin Glasgow age 50 and his father was deceased but his mother was still living. Many Thanks for the info.
