Are any of your descendants still in Lochwinnoch?? I ask because that's where I come from. The name Paterson and Pattison was well-known locally. One was a grocer and the other a coal merchant.

hi i do not know of any ...but im sure there were some that remained my mary pattison who married james orr ....left for australia
would be interesting to know if descendants of these families stayed in the area

The name Orr is also well-known in Lochwinnoch. I was born and brought up there, so if you find out anything that I can help you check, please let me know. My mum has lived there for more than 65 years. I'm not sure where you're based, but I live about 5 miles from Lochwinnoch now. You might like to check out the village website at
