Victoria Tower, Greenock

Post by Andy » Tue Aug 29, 2006 8:17 am

BBC have a competition on just now to vote for "Unsung Landmarks" the Victoria Tower, Greenock has made it into the final eight and, at present, is lying in fourth place.

The tower is the ONLY remaining landmark in-the-running from Scotland so a wee bit of help may be required.

Please consider voting at:

Searching for Keogh, Kelly, Fitzgerald, Riddell, Stewart, Wilson, McQuilkin, Lynch, Boyle, Cairney, Ross, King, McIlravey, McCurdy, Drennan and Woods (to name but a few).

Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.

Hi Andy,

Got an email to vote on this a few weeks ago. Glad the Victoria Tower made it to the finals. Would love to see it win. It sure is a beautiful building.

Thanks for the tip-off. I just voted - it closes today. But I fear the Greenock tower is now in 5th place :(

Greenock is important in my recent family stories.
