Is the Edinburgh 1841 - 1861 Census on line. I've looked at Freecen but had no joy - is there anywhere else? CD perhaps?

I'm looking for a James FARMER born 1799 and his wife Margaret born c 1800 living in Edinburgh.

He died in 1863 age 64 Toddricks Wynd High Street, Edinburgh. Believe Margaret died in 1885 but it wasn't registered by family so few details and wrong age put on death certificate.

What area would that be for the Census?

The 1841, 1851 and 1861 censuses should be appearing online one by one during this year, or at worst, over into next year, at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk . It will be well publicised on their website and is bound to appear in articles here on the TalkingScot website.

For what is already there and the tentative schedule, see the following webpage.

All the best,
