William Rodger - Brickwall - Can Anyone Help ?.....

Post by darylrodger » Sat Sep 23, 2006 10:58 pm

Hi Everyone,

I'm still having no luck with finding out details on my hubby's ancestor
William Rodger. According to a few census's he came from Bothwell.
His parents were William (a farmer) & Mary. He died Sept 29th in 1880, in 344 Crown St, Govanhill aged 82 years.

Can anyone help me before I go mad ?

Daryl

Hi Daryl
If he died in 1880, his death on Scotlandspeople (which it looks like you might already have) should give you his mother's maiden surname which should help you track him down a bit further.

Best wishes
Lesley

William Rodger - Brickwall - Can Anyone Help ?

Hi Lesley,

Unfortunately, William's mother Mary, had the same surname as her maiden name i.e. Rodger. I've tried to find her and also her husband, but as usual I can't seem to find them anywhere!

Any suggestions ?

Daryl

Hi Daryl,
probably no help whatsoever but,
my niece has a William Rodger. He started life as
Wincas Radzevicius. There were a few with this surname (var. sp.)
around the Bothwell area 1901.
