WOULD SOME KIND PERSON LOOK FOR BIRTH.....

Hi everone,Am hoping some kind person will look for the Birth of Elizabeth Smith for me she was born 1903 parents on her marriage cert are James Smith (coachman) and Ann or Annie Stones at the time of her marriage she lived at 13 west blackhall street greenock.1928.I know members of TS have tryed to find her parents for me in the past. Do you thing i could have the wrong parents have got nothing at all on Elizabeth Smith only her marriage. thank you all for your help in the past from Ellen

births up to 1905 are available on Scotlands People (link at top of page). Have you tried there?

Hi, have tryed SP nothing have just got Elizabeth's marriage cert with her dad been James Smith and Ann or Annie Stones as her mom I car'nt even find her parents marriage a few members of TS have even tryed.I was thinking if i got hold of her death cert it might have her parents names on it i know she died in Halifax West Yorkshie in 1989 so it i know i can get hold of it (what do you think) from Ellen

I'm afraid English death certificates are a big disappointment compared with Scottish ones. You wouldn't find her parents'names on there; only her husband's. You should get her date of birth but don't forget that information is only as good as the informant!

Main family lines are Harpers from Midlothian, Fife & Kinross-shire, and Dobies/Dobbies from Midlothian. Also Strathearn, Stobie, Layden and Downie.
