Mary Ann.....
Hi
I have just uploaded a death record for Mary Ann (Miln) but have a look at the next entry could this be a granddaughter? Mary had an Aunt Helen, and a 1/2 brother David Taylor Bruce.

It's her age that has grabbed me.How many people survive to 107!?With the names of her parents & her daughter reporting her death.?Not many I would imagine.Must be some kind of a record-anybody go any older?
Not me my eldest has been ninety-four & this in 1862.
Good genes!
Oh yes & very sad could be a little Granddaughter/Great-Grandaughter.

It does look like 107 to me but the format it is in wont allow the image to be magnified properly, even on a normal page view it does not fit the page.

Yes, 47 for me too. Compare it with the 4 in the year in each of the entries and it's identical.

And, strictly speaking, as she was illegitimate, she was mis-registered under her father's surname, instead of her mother's name, even although he also attended the registration and signed the register entry as well. Practice in this situation seems to vary from registrar to registrar.smiddykilry wrote:Hi
Thanks for that, 47 it is just had a look at the birth record.

In this particular case, it wasn't the mother who signed the register entry, but her mother, i.e. Mary Ann's maternal granny.
