FranK & Jessie Aitken address in Edinburgh 1890's

Post by Jim » Sun Oct 22, 2006 4:53 pm

I'm looking at an Edinburgh address from the 1890's that looks like # 2 Sciennes Hill Place. Can anyone tell me if this is the correct spelling? Thanks, Jim

Yes, it's right - pronounced Sheens. It's on the south side of the city.

Thanks Muriel,

By 1895 their next child was born at Viewforth, Edinburgh. Would that be a different area of the city than Sciennes Hill Place? Jim

Hi Jim

Sciennes Hill Place and Viewforth are only about 3/4 of a mile apart.
