Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness [RAOGK] in USA .....

Some of us might be familiar with RAOGK, whereas others might not.
Just type RAOGK into the Google search engine. I have just made use of one of their volunteers with an astoundingly quick result to my inquiries.
I only had a few details for one of my ancestors from Ayrshire, Scotland.
I supplied full name, date of birth, location, date of arrival in the USA and finally, last known location in Ohio. I had found the same name and date of birth on a WWI Registration for Cuyahoga, Cleveland, Ohio.
Before I went to bed I emailed one of the above mentioned volunteers from Cuyahoga.
And next morning there was an email to say that he had found the following for my ancestor.
Death notice
Full obituary
Marriage certificate with parents names
These are now being forwarded to me by mail and I will reimburse him for any expenses involved.
It made my day....believe me!

There are some really good people involved in this. In the past I've had some very kind acts done on my behalf that would otherwise have been impossible for me to research on my own. They deserve alot of praise.
