Hi Ellen - where are they all in the 1871 and 1881 records you've found?

Best wishes

Hi Ellen

Matilda was the obvious one to look for in 1881 because of the name.

I searched for Matilda Anderson b 1846 +/- 5 years. The list shows none being born in Ireland.

Sorry

Jean

Ellen - I should have been clearer - can you tell us where the family were living in the records you've found

Me too Jean - she must be sittin' somewhere wi' the curtains shut.

Best wishes

Hi Ellen

Is there a clue at all in Alexander's occupation ?

If it just says labourer its no help at all but if it ties him to work which might take him away and have to leave the younger kids in somebody else's care :?:

It's another possible line of approach.

Russell
Working on: Oman, Brock, Miller/Millar, in Caithness.
Roan/Rowan, Hastings, Sharp, Lapraik in Ayr & Kirkcudbrightshire.
Johnston, Reside, Lyle all over the place !
McGilvray(spelt 26 different ways)
Watson, Morton, Anderson, Tawse, in Kilrenny
