Hi Julie & Andy,
I hope you've found something more positive Andy, because it looks like this James KING may be an orphan.
Julie, he may not of course be your James, but an Amelia with him makes for a strongish case - abt right age too. On the other hand he was an apprentice grocer - not a baker.
But occupations of young lads can change, and in 1851 the only suitable James KING in Greenock is yours with Agnes.
[there is one other James King in 1851 - u/m aged 26, a cooper with parents William, seaman & Helen Allison]

I can't see a Duncan KING or a Helen (CRAWFORD) in the area 1841. Nor can i see a suitable Amelia in 1851, but she may have died young - or if not, be married and under different name elsewhere.
