Ekelund,Cloy,Fisher,Murray.....

Post by Harrowwoman » Fri Dec 08, 2006 10:50 pm

 Grandad was Bernhard Ekelund, Able Seaman (Sweden) married Maggie Cloy 1917, Cupar, Fife.

Great Grandad Rudolf Bernhard Ekelund, Great Grandmother Anna Louisa Eckman(?) 27 Upplandgatan, Stockholm, Sweden.

I would like to find out further about the Merchant Seaman connection and if there are any other relatives on either the Cloy side or the Ekelund side.

Took me 5 years to get this far!

Hi Harrowwoman
..and a warm welcome to Talking Scot :D
It is maybe a daft question - but... do you know how a Merchant Seaman came to be in Cupar? It is not a port...it is 10 miles inland. Just being nosey! Possibly came to Dundee?? Just guessing here.....

Best wishes
Lesley

Maybe one of the archives organisations here might be able to help, or point you in the right direction.

Hi again...
The marriage, in 1917, Cupar, is available on Scotlands People ( www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk ) That should give you the parents of both parties.

Best wishes
