Quicktime Problem (and solution - I hope)

Post by pinkshoes » Wed Dec 27, 2006 7:42 pm

I posted on this subject in SP Problems, but turns out it's nothing to do with SP, so in case anyone encounters a similar problem ...

Although my SP viewer is set to Direct Downloads, suddenly images were opening with Quicktime - fine as far as viewing goes, but wouldn't print, wouldn't save so neither use nor ornament really.

Turns out Quicktime arrived with the new Ipod Santa kindly brought for Mr Pinkshoes. Temporarily solved the issue by uninstalling Quicktime which I was told was unnecessary. Wrong. The fancy jukebox needs it apparently.

So after a day of [computer] and [comp03] and plenty of  here's the solution.

Open Quicktime from the control panel, click on the Browser tab, press the MIME settings button at the bottom of the window, uncheck Images - Still Image Files. Voila! Eryar sortit. All other footering and messing is futile.

No' bad fur a numpty.

Best wishes
