Presbyterian Minister

Post by DeniseC » Fri Dec 29, 2006 6:52 pm

I have been trying to trace more information on my gg grandfather who was ordained by the Presbytery of Ayr in 1828. Someone at the library in Edinburgh has kindly had a look for me in the Fasti Ecclesiae Scotiae and can't find him. Does anyone know if all ministers appeard in this book or where I can go from here? He lived in Northern Ireland from 1829 and I have a full history of him from here but believe he originated from Scotland and thought the Fasti would have more details on him. His name was Reverend John Millar . One of his sons had connections in Largs. I think his fathers name was Alexander and his mothers maiden name maybe Cochrane. Any help greatly appreciated.
