Robertson and McGregor from Perthshire.....

Post by robertson26 » Fri Jan 05, 2007 9:03 pm

Hello

I just recently discovered my GGG Grandparents death certificates showing their parents names which has allowed me to locate their birth's.

My GGG Grandparents are James Robertson and Isabella McGregor married 1824 Perth, Perthshire.

James Robertson's parents were Robert Robertson and Isabella McGregor (yes thats right another one), James was christened 12 Apr 1798 Blairgowrie, Perthshire.

Isabella McGregor's parents were Robert McGregor and May Cameron, Isabella was born 9 Dec 1803 Perth, Perthshire.

Robert McGregor and May Cameron were married on 12 Nov 1802 Perth, Perthshire.

I have been unable to find a marriage for Robert Robertson and Isabella McGregor.
However, they did have another son Charles Robertson born 3 Oct 1799 Blairgowrie.

Their is a submitted entry for Charles on the IGI which gives his middle name as Bruce, does anyone know how i can find out who submitted this entry.

Also, i am now left wondering whether or not James and Isabella were in fact related as his mother was also Isabella McGregor.

Is anyone else researching these familie's from Perthshire ?

Any help or suggestions on where to take this research next would be most appreciated.

Thankyou,
Debbie

Hi Debbie
Doesn't look like anyone else is researching this family so far...but you never know, new members are joining al the time.
Their is a submitted entry for Charles on the IGI which gives his middle name as Bruce, does anyone know how i can find out who submitted this entry.
I'm sure someone will be able to answer this one better than I can, but as far as I'm aware, sometimes there is a link to the submitters details and sometimes not. Your local LDS centre would probably be able to advise how to follow it up.

Best wishes
Lesley
