If I use Outlook Express for email how do I prevent opening an email I know is spam?
I don't get many I have the latest Norton and Adaware.
However, I can't seem to make this as spam without opening the message.
I never open attachments unless I know who they are from
The latest lot are about buying Viagra and buying shares in very dubious companies not even listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
If I use bigpond webmail I can tick and delete without opening

Hello Wini
I am not sure that you can use this feature with Outlook Express. I thought that Outlook Express was the no frills email programme. With Outlook being the "all bells and whistles version" but I am sure someone more knowledgeable will come along and correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Wini,
In Outlook Espress, click on View, Layout and make sure that "Preview Pane" is ticked. You can choose to have it below or to the side of the message list. With the preview pane active the email isn't actually "opened" in the true sense of the word, it just means that you can read it before opening it. OK those changes.
To block a sender, Click on Message and Block Sender.
Done!
By the way, In the Message drop down menu you can also create a rule to "dump" emails according to your own preferences. For instance you could create a rule that stops emails with certain words in the subject or in the body of the message, or have them put into a preferred folder. I have set up mail folders for TS, Sp and all sorts. When the email arrives it is automatically put straight into that folder.
Guess which folder I always open right away
BTW, I use Microsoft Outlook which came with the Office Software, but the principles are the same, and I opened Express just to get the right sequence for you.

Wini, if you knew how many times I have to yell for my son to help me out using Photoshop with my downloaded images, you'd not say that
