Post by Rach » Thu Jan 18, 2007 8:40 pm

Just wondering if anyone else is researching Govans in Old Kilpatrick? My husband has William Govan born c 1795.

Hi there Rae

Don't have anyone of the name Govan in my tree, but I used to play golf with a guy called John Govan!

Good luck with your search ...

Thanks for the reply, Liz.
There were Govans going way back in Old Kilpatrick. Have just found his birth - have later information about him - but with so many Govans there I thought I might be lucky on this site. Will have to see if he had any siblings etc. His wife was Elizabeth Inglis, also from that area.
The fun is just beginning!
