Hi

can anyone tell me if there is such a place in paisley as Inkernan, or something that sounds like that. i had an address writtten down from a certificate and i thought it was 49 inkernan, paisley.

i thought jack might know if nobody else does, i know he lives in paisley.

Don't know Paisley but would guess that a street spelled like that would be Inkerman Street, after the battle.

actually you could be right maybe it said 49 inkerman?

how about Inchinnan Road, which runs north from the town centre on the west side of White Cart Water.

What sort of date are you looking at?

Here is 49 Inkerman in 1881

Hi Karen,
If you go to http://www.nls.uk/maps/early/os_scotlan ... _list.html

Select Sheet 30 - Glasgow
Click on Paisley (it's the large dark part of the yellow area near the bottom of the map)
Just keep clicking on the name Paisley to zoom in.
You'll see South Candren just to the north, and then Inkerman just above it.
