McAfee Security Suite Upgrade

Post by Jockbird » Sun Feb 11, 2007 11:39 pm

Hello!

I've just downloaded & installed the new McAfee Security Suite and am a wee bit confued in Outlook.

Previously in Outlook you could click on the Spamkiller section and preview your messages, both accepted & blocked, sometimes finding the odd legitimate message in your junk mail. This facility seems to have gone and for all my looking I can't find how to do it now. At the mo I have had to open my junk folder to check which I'm not too chuffed about. [comp03]

Can anyone help, please? An idiots guide would be best! :?

Many thanks
Donna

Hi Donna,

I have the older version of McAfee Security Center. On the version you are now running, I take it the "M" symbol will appear in the box at the end of the taskbar - beside the clock. If yes, double click on the "M" symbol. That should take you into the Security Center. On that, there should be a link to"Spam Killer". Click on that. Hopefully there you wil find a link marked "View E-mail Blocked by Spam Killer". Click on that and you should see the list of junk mail that you have been used to checking to see if some real mail has been quarantined. I am assuming that route or something very similar should be available in the new version of the program.

All the best,

AndrewP

Hi Andrew,

I made that same assumption but I've not found an equivalent yet in this new version.

I was hoping someone else would have the update and have found it, if not I'll traipse off to McAfee and email them for an answer....och, on some things really if it ain't broke don't fix it, it's a nuisance.

All the best

Donna

I hope you get it sorted out. I got rid of McAfee because of an update that made the internet to slow and unworkable.

I agree with you if it aint broke dont fix it.

Hi Stewie,

Everything else is hunkydory with the new upgrade but I'd got used to the old Spamkiller, I've got 'deid punters' to find, I've no time to chase computer bods!

Hi Donna

I have the new Version of McAfee Security Suite. When I go into my e-mail, on the left side of the screen it says folders. All the e-mail is listed there, inbox, outbox, spamkiller, outbox, deleted items. I have no problem with it. I am using Outlook Express.

I hope that this helps.

Hi Sheila,

I'm using Outlook but I do still have my folders down the left side, it's just that previously on the McAfee Toolbar you could click on Spamkiller and preview your emails, therefore, being able to check no 'innocent' emails had strayed into Junk. You could then delete your junk emails without even opening the folder. It just appears that this facility is now missing......unless it's me missing something.

It's just a wee nuisance.

Hi Donna

I click on the SpamKiller on the Folders box on the left side of the screen to check that the spam really is Spam and not something that is good mail. I remember that when I got the lastest update I had to do some adjusting with my Spam Mail too.

Regards

Hi Sheila,

Following on from you replies I had a good look at my Outlook and then realised I could preview my junk in a new window. Seems to be problem solved.....she says hopefully!

Best wishes
Donna
