Jacobites of Perthshire 1745

Post by robineaston » Wed Feb 21, 2007 7:50 pm

Hello

Does anyone have a book called "Jacobites of Perthshire in 1745"? I'm looking for information about John Ballantine from Dunkeld who served in Atholl Brigade.

Hi Frances and Robin,
The original book seems out of print.
But there's a re-print of 78 pages - ISBN: 0806348380
The price seems to range from about £6 to an extortionate £21....
Try a "google" on the title or ISBN number.

Hi Robin,

I found a John Ballantine listed with the Atholl's in 'No Quarter Given - The Muster Roll of Prince Charles Edward Stuart's Army, 1745-46'. He was a piper and taken at Carlisle (later acquitted). Hope this is of interest if you didn't have the info already.

Best,

Scott
