saskatchewan, Marriage Records .....

Hello all:

question, Im tryng to find out where I might look for a marriage record, for Frederick S, Foley and Roseann Mitchell (Anna) in saskatchewan, I believe about 1913-1916, I understand they were married bya justice of the peace, and then were remarried in NY in 1919, and cannot locate that record either. Any Ideas???

Have you tried http://www.ancestry.ca/ Entering Frederick Foley marrying Mitchell 1914 +/- 2 in Saskatchewan results in the following:
Name: Frederick S Foley
Birth: 5 Mar 1896
Death: 13 Oct 1985 - Pasco, Florida, United States
Parents: Michael J. Foley
Spouse: Anna Mitchell

Name: Frederick S. Foley
Birth: 1896
Parents: Michael J. Foley, Honora Seward
Spouse: Sylvia A. Mitchell

All marriages whether civil or religious must be registered with the government of Saskatchewan. You may find something on the following site http://www.saskgenealogy.com/Web%20Site%202.htm

That may be more economical than a genealogical photocopy of the registration from the Saskatchewan government which is listed at $50

This site might be helpful for NY marriage info - I did try Ros* Mitchell and got a hit, but not for Frederick Foley

I was searching under Mitchell, Anna, and kept coming up empy. Im putting up another post about Anna, and how she went to Canada. I will consult the vital stats office, the marriages are nopt yet indexed on line.

Hi Karen,
Did you come up with the result that Frances found? I ask, because it comes up empty for me no matter what

This is not the first time that I have found that my so-called "World Deluxe Membership" does not include parts of the Canadian site.

I thought I was paying for everything that ancestry puts up...

I cancelled my Ancestry.com (just the trial version) I didnt have much luck with it, with the exception of a few census records, and of course that was before the Scotalnd records were added, I may give it another shot. But I did try searching for Anna Mitchell, and couldnt find it, I also tried Foley, but was searching under Fred, not Frederick, But I would think it would capture Frederick too. I can identify with your frustration!

I find Ancestry to be inconsistent more than frequently.

Thank you, I just received that info from a distant cousin who posted it. She found me through another cousin, and has been able to fill in some blanks. I'm doing another trial of the world deluxe version of Ancestry.com and we'll see how it goes. You've been a great help to me, thanks,
