Hi
Just having a good browse through today, and thought, oh goody, there an Irish board, so I might as well add my penny worth
I have not been on TalkingScot for quite a while, so I`m making up for lost time today!!
Well, to get down to it, I have Irish ancestors on both Paternal & Maternal sides of my family, did not know of this a few years ago, only now discovering these facts.
I am looking for other information about EZEKIEL McCULLOCH He would be my Paternal gt grandfather Born abt 1832 in Ireland, but don`t know where
He came to Scotland when? married CAROLINE FRASER states on census her b/place Edinburgh, but so far have not found record of birth on Parish records (Scots people site) abt 1833, they married in 1862 and had a large family
Ezekiel died 1893
His parents were
Ezekiel McCulloch, a Coach Smith, & Elizabeth Herrick
Caroline`s parents were
John Fraser & Elizabeth Hendry
Anyone else researching any of these people??
If so, would love to share information.
I too have Irish ancestors .....

Hi again Maud!
I've got some Irish lines on my paternal family, but none which appear to connect with you. Have you made any progress from your original post? I noticed that someone else on here has posted a site for Ireland, so if you don't already know about it, here it is

Thanks Liz for the site you have given, I will have a go and see what I can find.
I have not heard anything yet either about the Irish or Scottish side
so looks like none of them are interested, but I will not give up hope yet, perhaps one day something will turn up.

Hi Maud,
Just a thought....have you looked for any possible poorhouse records for your Irishman or his wife? If one exists it may tell you the county of Ireland he came from. I have had a bit of success with this!
Good luck...My mother's line is completely Irish before 1860

Hi Maud,
A bit like you, although I knew my maternal grandfather was of Irish stock , I have since discovered that three of my four grandparents' families originated in Ireland.
The Ancestry Ireland site got me my paternal GGG Grandfather/mother's marriage, but only the fathers of both parties are named, so I'm a bit stuck now. I can't find anything about my Dad's mother's Irish ancestors anywhere
but I live in hope.
