P.E.I. .....

Post by wini » Tue May 15, 2007 6:49 am

Evelyn Brown (nee Henry} was the first person to swim the Northumberland Strait. She died recently in Outback Australia.
I only knew her for a few years but our connection was that she was from Scottish stock and some of my ancestors went to P.E.I. in the Highland Clearances.

I just want to publicly thank John from the Public Archives Office in Charlottetown P.E.I for the information he sent to me, which I have passed on to her grandchildren.
Apart from the Newspaper cuttings he also sent a school project done by Bob Burke of Queen Charlotte H.S age 13 in 1978. Bob won 3rd prize for his essay.
If any of T.S members have a connection with P.E.I I can highly recommend the Public Archives Office in Charlottetown

Hi Wini
I just want to publicly thank John from the Public Archives Office in Charlottetown P.E.I for the information he sent to me, which I have passed on to her grandchildren.
Some archivists are just wonderful - glad you found one in Prince Edward Island :D (I'm only showing off, 'cos it took me a while to work out what P.E.I stood for! ) !
Best wishes
Lesley
