William Jardine - Can't Find Birth

Hi,

I have yet another Jardine that I can't find in the o.p.r's.

William Jardine was a farmer and I'm certain he came from Fintry, Stirlingshire. His wife was Janet Waters, and they married on 30th May 1801. I've tried looking on SP without success, and the I.G.I but can't find him.

Any ideas ?

There is a William Jardin on the IGI baptised 1770 in Falkirk - his parents were John and Christian Cunningham - I notice the first child of William and Janet on the IGI is called John and they also have a daughter Christian - so this looks a possibility from naming patterns.

Edit: There is also a Jean Jordaine - parents John and Christian Cuninghame baptised in Fintry 1773, so perhaps the family moved from Falkirk to Fintry after William was born.

There is also an Elizabeth baptised Falkirk in 1775 - same parents

Hi

I am a direct descendant of William Jardine also known as Jordan or Jordaine. His parents were John Jordaine and Christian Cunninghame, he was baptised in Falkirk in 1775, his sister Jean was baptised in Fintry in 1772. Christian Cunninghame was the daughter of James 'The Younger' Cunninghame or Cunningham of Fintry, this is as far back as I have been able to track my Jardine ancestors.
