Re: Ancestry London Records

Hi Scott

Just thought I'd freshen up this wee post of yours.

The LMA site is very interesting - I only wish I could find an ancestor who went to London, so I could use it!

Hi Doddie

Have you made any progress with this search?

We gathered together a lot of links to "seafaring" subjects on TS and that might give you an idea of some sites to check out, particularly for emigration.

Re: List of Scottish high schools in 1910's

Adam

Why not try one email (sent blind) to all the local authority archivists asking if they could identify which of their schools fits your timescale? Then you could email the schools direct ... this project will keep you out of trouble for some time to come!

Re: A long shot - Philps in Dairsie

Jenny I'm not sure how much checking you have done re the info you've given us. The marriage of Robert Philp to Janet Kermoch on 17/7/1774 was submitted to the IGI by a member. That means it is not directly taken from the OPRs. I had a look at the batch number quoted (7514918) and two further marria...

Re: List of Scottish high schools in 1910's

Hi Adam I don't know if one single place exists with the information you're looking for, but this link takes you to the Scottish Govenment site for Education:- http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/Education/Schools/Contacts I couldn't see anyone who might be able to answer the question from there, but ...

Re: Help to identify WW2 soldier

Hi there Agnes It might be worth your while trying to upload the photograph to see what some of the TS members make of it. There have been some problems with the TS gallery, so have a look at the thread about that for some temporary alternative ideas. Cheers! Liz PS (this is from 29/1/10) Our forum ...

Re: SCOTTS, Sanday, Orkney Scottish Islands.

Oh well - it was worth a try ... I have not done much of my own research over the past year or so and am just back browsing around TS to catch up. I hope you get some progress on this soon - it is always worth while coming back to your posts here and updating with any progress you've made. We ...
