Why were we not told by Scotland's people instead of relying on word of mouth.

Because TalkingScot is a private concern set up in the absence of the Scotlands People Discussion Group (SP DG), rather than an official replacement for the SP DG.

However, we at TalkingScot are in negotiation for a link to be set up from the SP website if their DG is not to return. Decisions have to be made on the SP side first.

All the best,

Andrew Paterson

Very simple. They did not know. Scotlands People have no part in the setup, running or affairs of TalkingScot.

How did you hear about TalkingScot

I read about it on one of the genealogy groups I am subscribed to. I was interested on 2 counts. I am busy with my Family Tree and ever anxious to gain any further information. I also like the idea that we can help one another.

The other reason is I am also interested in the Lallans tongue so liked the play on words.

Keep up the good work

Your welcome Georgie.

You have received a wealth of information on this site. Do you have a program where you can now store all this information?

I just knew that once you got started you would become addicted, just like the rest of us Georgia.

My greatgrandmother was also born in Dumbarton.

Happy searching.

Programme

Post by G.Love » Mon Jan 17, 2005 9:21 pm

Ina, I don't have a programme, I'm enjoying setting it all down by hand on a big sheet of paper. Pencil entries only at this stage, but then I will go over with ink. I like the leeway it gives me to design it myself.

Hi Drew,

My g granny Ann Jane Higgins and a brother John were born in High Street Dumbarton (no Street number given, just says lodgings). The family eventually moved to Greenock where she married and settled down.

Thanks for your offer. If you have a camera I'd appreciate it if you could take a photo of High Street, and post it on the AG gallery or email to me.

Thanks,
Ina
