Thanks Joette,
Works for me.
Now I've got to get my act together, hopefully that won't take 3 days.

Hi thanks for the tip. I am now printing of my ggranda's war record. Have found a little gem in it, a great aunt nobody knew about doesn't look like she survived long so need to track her through S.P.. Used fatjocks link took me to ancestry.com.
Always looking for rellies near and far, especially Toy(e), Berwick, Tobin, Quinn, Gallagher, Pope and Anderson

What i did notice is that .com has World Delux membership for 1 month at $29.95 and .co.uk has World Collection at £24.90 and i think they contain the same records. For us in the U.K at todays exchange rate we could save ourselves around £10 - ish by subscribing to .com.

I have just emerged from four days of frantic activity.
I think they measured usage by the hour rather than by the calender day.
It will take weeks to sort out the info downloaded and we have explored family side branches which we would normally leave alone as too costly.
We have found multiple marriages across two generations with families taking on other children and naming patterns which include the names of the first/second wife/husband's family. A real insight into how difficult life must have been at the end of the 1800's and how families just got on with living life.
Life is cushy for us nowadays
Ancestry. com's system for census indexing made it so easy to find the more obscure entries but the system seemed to object to 'wildcard' searches.
I wonder if they will do it again as the system seemed to get slower and slower as more people came home from work and overloaded the search engine.
Any more freebies on offer
