Hi its cheaper to pay for ancestry.com the USA one if doing deluxe world wide but you can go to any of them ie UK or Australia and put in your user name and password and login as long as you have the worldwide subscription

I am paying $29 US a month for that which is $30 AU and it would cost $59 AU if I subbed here in OZ to ancestry Australia !
I did at one stage ring to query this and was told that is what we charge in Australia
so l always buy my subscription now via the Ancestry.com one

by default it usually sends you to your own country as it must read your IP address I am subscribed to ancestry.com but have bookmarked the ancestry Scotland as thats what I use the most and by going to any other country at the top I can search there as well

I am happy with it as it works out to about 1 dollar a day for a great resource

I'm very happy with it. Initially I planned to take out only a month or two but i can see me taking it a lot longer as it works out cheaper than SP. I'm using Ancestry Census info to narrow down my choices for BMD's on SP as well as having access to the US records.

I've been able to follow a few of my dead ends

The transcription is diabolical though

The transcription can be awful at times and sometimes awfully funny!

I just spent a week working on the Finnish side of my family. My grandmother's name was Itaniemi. I found one person I think maybe a relative, but the transcription for him was Francori Staminini!!! Sounds Italian to me!

Yes I found some of the Scottish place names very funny. Then again if I was trying to intelligent guess some foreign names I wouldn't get very far either
