I find RC very helpful for tracing English/Welsh family. I just received a series of pictures taken for me by a wonderful person in Dorset of where my family used to live. When you live across the world, rather tricky to get such photographs for yourself. Access to parish records from England is also not easy from a distance - if not held by the LDS. They do not have a one stop online shop as in Scotland. I can usually find links - or a very helpful person via RootsChat.
I have also received much help from folks here & where possible I attempt to return the assistance with any information I can supply from Australia.

I post at Rootschat using the same name, but mostly in the photos section in the past six months or so. I have had at least two significant contacts made through Rootschat so I am well pleased with it . On the whole I find other posters friendly and helpful as well as knowledgeable. But as others have said...if you want Scottish stuff...HERE is the place to be!
