Any idea how to research old newspapers from Dunfermline and Cowdenbeath on line. I have been informed that some of my ancestry were mentioned, if not photographed, in early editions around those regions.
Have tried some papers but am unable to get archives; it'll give editions approximately 3 to 5 years and then you have to try asserting which edition you are enquiring as to.
Also, how do you acquire records of investigations and/or testimonies of parties within the investigations. I ask because I also discovered this occurred too with some of my ancestors.
Thanks anyone and everyone.

Have you tried the libraries? They often have archives from newspapers.
See http://www.talkingscot.com/links/libraries.htm for contact details at Carnegie Library, Dunfermline.
All the best,

Dear Andrew:
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried but Dunfermline doesn't seem to have anything within web sites and Clackkmannon requires set data in order for them to search,
nothing accessible on line to look into.
Seems as though the newspaper theories may have to wait until my next trip back home visiting family. Unsure when that'll be due to ongoing commitments here but I'm enjoying what I'm able to acquire on line in relation to my ancestral heritage. That's one blessing
