The Watt Library in Greenock has indexed it's birth, marriage and death records. They can be found at the following site.

Thanks Ina,
This is a great resource for anyone with connections to Greenock and thereabouts. They call it an index but it’s actually a huge number of summaries (many look to be just about the complete item) of Birth, Death, Marriage and other notices which appeared in the Greenock Advertiser, Greenock Telegraph and other local newspapers from early 19th Century to about 1913.
Current coverage is mainly A-C, M-O, and some fragments.
They are delivered as large Word Documents up to 3.5mb but there may be some teething problem with the site as I’ve found the larger downloads have been failing (at least for me).
Thanks to the Watt Library and the Inverclyde Council.

Catriona, Hello
C'est bon de te/vous revoir
I'm praying this means "Welcome Back" [-o<
Ah you'll be so proud of Joe, he's been taking French classes for the past 1 1/2 yrs and spoke nothing but French on Christmas Eve
All I could think was you and your next conversation with him. Hmm, how will I know if you're talking about me?
All The Best For The New Year!

Lair Registers
It is good to see that the Inverclyde Council is encouraging the Watt Library and McLean Museum to place so much information on the internet. I wish that they would do the same with the lair registers at the South Street Cemetery. I know that there is a charge for looking up the Register by post or in person but if they had internet access at a reasonable charge or even had them available to purchase on CD then it would help genealogists immensely.
