Anyone visiting NAS ?

Post by frances » Mon Sep 29, 2008 9:08 am

If anyone is visiting the NAS I would be very grateful if they could look for the birth record of DUNCAN MACRAE born c 1850 in Petty .I believe his family may have been members of The Free Church.

His parents were DONALD/DAVID MACRAE and SARAH MACPHERSON. Although I have found him on a number of census I have been unable to locate his birth on SP , neither have I been able to find his parents marriage record.

Any help at all would be most welcome. :D

Thank You

Frances

Hi Frances:

Was anyone able to follow-up on this for you? If not, maybe someone will be going soon?

It looks like there are no records in NAS for Petty Free Church for that era.

According to information on the NAS website, there was a Free Church in Petty under its various names from 1851 to 1929. As I read it there was probably a Free Church congregation from 1843, but without its own church building until 1851.

See NAS reference to Petty Free Church.

All the best,

Thanks for that Andrew, seems I am destined not to find the elusive Duncan Macrae.
