Planning to visit NRH?

Post by TAFKAM » Tue Nov 11, 2008 9:08 pm

It would appear that around 10 to 12 seats have been removed from the West Search Room in New Register House.

Although this is normally a quieter time at NRH, it would appear that it is just as necessary to reserve a seat in advance of your visit than it would be during the summer months. To reserve a seat (and avoid the disappointment of travelling a fair distance and not getting in!), the telephone number is 0131 314 4433/4449/4450. :)
On my way, from misery to happiness.

Hi Tafkam
I've always been lucky so far when turning up with no booking, but it sounds like you are speaking from recent experience of finding there were no seats... :( I'll try to be organised and take your tip for next time!

Best wishes

I always book as I'm travelling from Perthshire but thanks for pointing that out. Like your tag line.....good old Proclaimers! Have you seen Sunshine on Leith?

Hi Tafkam,

I was in NRH yesterday. As I arrived mid-morning and had no booking, most of the seats were taken and I ended out in the South Search Room (upstairs) where the seats are much closer together than the East or West Search Rooms. The South was mostly full, I presume that means the East and West were completely full. Given the choice, I would go for the East or the West before the South.

All the best,

AndrewP

Changing the subject
Have you seen Sunshine on Leith?
Quite brilliant.
Saw it last year, going back for "2nd time around" next week. And normally I don't like musicals at all. Nae time for them usually, but I can make a very large exception for the Proclaimers and the absolutely brilliant Dundee Rep Ensemble. =D> =D> =D>

Best wishes
