SCOTSMAN ARCHIVE

Post by govanite » Sat Dec 27, 2008 1:21 pm

Hello

Can anyone help/ In the Scotsman archive for 1869 there is a reference to "Brydon Eaglesham" for July 1869.
Would anyone with access to this be able to tell me what the article is about.

thanks in advance

Hi Govanite,

Welcome to TalkingScot. [scotland-flag]

If you are hoping to find information about someone called Brydon in Eaglesham, the news is not good for you.

The Scotsman article was about the Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland's show taking place on The Meadows in Edinburgh in 1869. Allan Gilmour of Eaglesham House was exhibiting a bay gelding at the show. Quite separately in the same news article, a James Brydon was exhibiting various Cheviot sheep at the show.

All the best,

AndrewP
