World Vital Records Free Trial.

Post by Currie » Sat Jan 31, 2009 1:54 pm

I’m not very familiar with this organisation or how easy it is to search but there seems to be records from quite a few places and it’s probably worth a look. Maybe this trial will work even if you don’t register?

World Vital Records offers free access to 15 February 2009

One of the fastest growing websites with good Australian content is World Vital records at http://www.worldvitalrecords.com.au

You can sign up for a free 30 day trial before 15 February 2009 without the need to provide any credit card details or commitment of payment after that date, so now is a great time to try the site out if you haven't already. You'll find a huge variety of Australian records, including electoral rolls, government gazettes, cemeteries, post office directories, police gazettes and many historical volumes. Not only can you search these by name, but you can download the PDF image of the relevant page from them as well! This is a site you are sure to hear a lot more about in the future, so now is a great time to register with them and have a look around.

I saw it here http://www.sag.org.au/newsletters/jan09.htm

(the site seems a bit slow at the moment)

Hi Alan,

I've been curious about what type of records WVR had in their database and now I know. Thanks for posting the link...

I just signed up for their free 30 days membership and the record searches are not limited to Australia, plenty of Morning family are listed from the United States. No credit card information is required, unlike another certain free offer on the net.

Here's my gg gm, Margaret b. Kilbirnie, along with my gg Aunts & Uncle (of course I already knew where they were buried :) so no help there) Also plenty of "beautiful morning, birth this morning, etc.

Elizabeth Shaw August 29 1945 Fairview Cemetery(Massachusetts,United States of America) Annie N. Longtin 1893 -date to recent to post Riverside Cemetery(Massachusetts,United States of America) Janet McQuade 1879 March 4 1906 Riverside Cemetery(Massachusetts,United States of America) James Morning Riverside Cemetery(Massachusetts,United States of America) Margaret Morning Riverside Cemetery(Massachusetts,United States of America)

Regards
Marilyn

Just had a look around World Vital Records. Signing up for the freebie is a snap. Even worked when I left off my phone number.

There's an interesting variety of databases listed including outside Australaisa, but I kept getting thrown back to the home page about 70% of the time. Hopefully, this is because the site is busy right now! I'll try again later, maybe after the weekend. Didn't find anything new for my family, but Find A Grave came up with a DOD and burial site for one of my friend's 2x great grandfather's and that's a plus!

Looking for: Clerihew, Longmuir/Longmore, Chalmers, Milne, Barclay in Newhills,
Munro, Cadenhead, Raitt, Ririe/Reary
