Catholic Archives in Glasgow.

I have family I want to check out, died before 1851 census. I called the Catholic Archives in Glasgow, who put me through to a Priest (lost the number) who said that the Parish Records were sent to and kept at St.Columbia, Woodside, gave me an email, whoever no one has ever replied, it was a Father O'Conner. The Father also said StJoseph's was not built until later (the one I called was in Trongate. The Parish was Barony, most everyone in the family married at StJosephs Chapel and then St.Joseph Catholic Church, through the years. Ive checked with Edinburgh,Catholic Archives, they say they have all the records, ?? so are they kept at both places.
Im researching McGibbon,Gibbon, Rooney, Hamill and Rogan. All lived Anderston, Maryhill, Hillhead. Bridgeton. Mostly what was known as Barony Parish according to all the certificates ive downloaded. Grate if someone can help. Thanks Lindsey

...I don't think they hold a complete set of all the records, as there was an area I was looking for which does not get a mention.
NAS also hold Catholic records in ref. RH21 - go to
http://www.nas.gov.uk/onlineCatalogue/
put RH21 in the reference box and click search. Click the RH21 link and you will see a list of records held there.
In all cases, you need to have an idea of the name of the likely church(es)

The archdiocesan archive holds, in the Curial Offices at 196 Clyde Street, Glasgow, G1 4JY, original registers with a starting-date prior to the introduction of civil registration in Scotland in 1855. Photocopies of these registers are also normally held in the parish to which they relate, and in the Scottish Record Office in Edinburgh (reference: RH21).
It is possible, by prior appointment, for enquirers to visit the archive and search the registers. Appointments should be made by contacting the archivist either by letter, or by telephone on 0141-226-5898 x154.
