Adoption Agencies

Post by AnnieMack » Sat Jun 06, 2009 9:16 pm

I know we don't discuss living people here but I wondered if anyone could help me find out which adoption agencies operated in the Glasgow area in the mid to late 60's. The Roman Catholic ones have been tried, it is any others that might have been operational then.

Thanks!

Annie

I had a friend who had her baby adopted in the late 60's at Glasgow. Everything was done through the hospital and as far as I know Glasgow City Council arranged it.

There is a lot of info on the GCC website

I think the Church of Scotland also arranged adpotions at one time. Don't know where the records would be though - you could try C of S HQ at 121 George Street, Edinburgh.
