When I logged into Ancestry this morning there is a link to "free access to titanic records"
http://www.ancestry.com.au/titanic
One of my family stories was that "a distant relative was on the titanic". I had previously found the person - but not alot of detail. One of the ancestry finds lead to this site
http://gov.ns.ca/news/smr/2012-03-30-Ti ... ds-Online/ which has images of the fatality reports of those who died. Included in the effects for my man was "a diamond and emerald ring" - He was, from family stories, on his way to the USA to propose marriage to his girlfriend - I often wonder who she was & did she get the ring.

Re: Titanic & family stories
Thanks Trish.
I've only had a quick look for now, but what an interesting site!
I don't know of any of my lot being connected with the Titanic but I'll be having a thorough search later on.
Great resourse!
Regards,
Anne H
