Hi there,
Has anyone got access to archived obits from the "Oban Times" who might be able to look up my grandfather's death notice? Besides being of great interest, it might be a piece of supporting evidence to assist in my father's present quest to establish his right to be buried, in his family's lair, in Glenorchy Kirkyard, Dalmally, Argyll.
Grandfather was Alexander FLETCHER, b. Feb. 23, 1890, d. April 10, 1950. My Dad recalls writing the obit for the "Oban Times" 55 years ago. Thank you in advance for any help!

Hi Mary,
The Oban Times has a list of contacts on the following webpage.
http://www.obantimes.co.uk/info/contact_us.php
There is no directly appropriate contact to choose from the list - probably worth trying letters@... and see if they can be persuaded to consult their archives.
Or maybe Oban Library may hold archives of their local newspaper.

All the best,
