IGI search machine.

Hi all, found this programme on Roots Chat; seemingly it searches the Scottish IGI by middle name and county. Could be useful.

Hi Thrall

Quite a number of us probably know about this site, but there are possibly many who do not. It's always good when useful sites are highlighted from time to time. A reminder for some, a discovery for others.

I would like to emphasize how useful I have found the site. My family is one where the family surnames were regularly given as middle names. I've had several interesting finds here which helped advance my research.

Can't seem to get this site to work for some reason.

I cilick on a county and then an initial letter, but a new window fails to open up.

Anybody know why this is?

Hi Caroline - do you have a popup blocker - sometimes indicated by a "spark" seen when you click. Get past by holding Ctrl when you click. Seemed to work for me at least. Good luck.
